St Alban’s is at the heart of the Ashmore Park estate. The church aims to be a community-focused, family church which has Jesus at the centre, open to the renewing work of the Holy Spirit and taking the Bible seriously, working out carefully how it impacts our lives today. This shapes all that the church does – from children's and young people's groups, to our evangelism and outreach, to our care and concern for our community, and our involvement at St Alban's C of E Academy. As a school, we have exceptionally strong and proud links to our local Church of St. Alban's, who are part of the Wednesfield Ministry and we encourage all our children to embrace their faith. Collective Worship at St Alban's is an integral part of every school day. It is a time where we come together, where we collaborate and where we foster a sense of community. Our worship celebrates difference and encourages respect and dignity. Our Collective Worship engages creatively with the school’s Christian values and associated British values showing respect for and giving dignity to all wherever they may be on their spiritual journey. Within our school hall, we have a prayer box where children's own prayers can be valued and shared with the rest of the school in collective worship.
Raising money for charity is something that we do really well! Sometimes we have a whole school focus such as Christian Aid or Comic Relief, other times, groups of children organise their own fundraising events in school.
Children, parents and carers donated a wider range of products for our Harvest Festival. These items will be sent to "The Well" who are a Christian charity with a passion to show Jesus’ heart of love for the poor across our City. They provide food parcels and essentials for those who are in desperate need. The items will also be sent to St Alban's Church who hold a foodbank pantry each week.
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to show God's love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Since 1990, more than 186 million children in over 160 countries have experienced God's love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child. Our parents, carers and children donated Christmas Shoe Boxes to the OCC project for children in other countries to support Christian Aid.
