We are proud to be an open and inclusive church school at the centre of our community in Ashmore Park, where children are encouraged to become confident, articulate and immensely capable young people. We nurture and support each person within our small school family and each individual is respected and valued equally without regard to ability, gender, faith or race. At St Alban's, our Christian Values are woven like a thread through our school enriching who we are.
Individual, Class and Whole School Collective Worship is an integral part of life at St Alban's. Collective Worship takes place daily and is an important part of our school life, making space for children and staff to come together and share ideas, thoughts and feelings in worship through learning, music, reflection and prayer. Our worship is inclusive and gives all of the school community the chance to be part of the experience, while respecting the views of others.
Our week of worship is as follows:
Monday - Headteacher's Worship
Tuesday - Reverand Tom's Worship
Wednesday - Achievement Worship including Christian Values
Thursday - Worship through Song
Friday - Celebration Worship
Throughout the week, the children share our whole school prayer and also write their own prayers and submit them to the prayer box: during each worship, a new prayer is chosen from the box and shared by the children, again solidifying our approach to valuing all children's wishes and thoughts.
Please see below for our weekly Collective Worships for you to use at home.
St Alban’s is at the heart of the Ashmore Park estate. The church aims to be a community-focused, family church which has Jesus at the centre, open to the renewing work of the Holy Spirit and taking the Bible seriously, working out carefully how it impacts our lives today. This shapes all that the church does – from children's and young people's groups, to our evangelism and outreach, to our care and concern for our community, and our involvement at St Alban's C of E Academy. As a school, we have exceptionally strong and proud links to our local Church of St. Alban's, who are part of the Wednesfield Ministry and we encourage all our children to embrace their faith.
