Worship in Our School

Collective Worship at St Alban's is an integral part of every school day. It is a time where we come together, where we collaborate and where we foster a sense of community. Our worship celebrates difference and encourages respect and dignity. Our Collective Worship engages creatively with the school’s Christian values and associated British values showing respect for and giving dignity to all wherever they may be on their spiritual journey. Within our school hall, we have a prayer box where children's own prayers can be valued and shared with the rest of the school in collective worship.

As Vicar of St Alban's Church, Ashmore Park, I am delighted to have such a caring and friendly school linked to our church. Each week I look forward to coming and sharing worship with the St Alban's school community. The children engage so enthusiastically, and I know they value this opportunity to pause and reflect on life from a spiritual perspective.

Jesus welcomed and valued children, and it is my hope that every child at St Alban's School will experience that same sense of being welcomed and valued, whatever their background.

Children are very important to us at St Alban's Church, and we recently appointed Sam Crosby, herself a school parent at St Alban's School as our Children and Families Worker. It is a privilege to come into school with Sam to share Collective Worship with the children and staff each week, and a joy to welcome the whole school into church for special services at Christmas and Easter.

We also work with the school leadership to develop and maintain a distinctive Christian ethos that underpins not just the teaching of RE but the whole way in which the school works together.

If you would like to talk to us about any aspect of the life of the school, or about how to help your children fulfil their God-given potential, don't hesitate to get in touch.
