MATHEMATICS

At St Alban’s C of E Academy, we aim to stimulate and engage all learners to ensure they become confident, competent and capable thinkers within mathematics.  Our goal is to ensure the children leave school with life-long strategies they can apply in their daily lives and we strive for the children to apply their mathematical thinking to real life problems across the week.  We do this through engaging lessons, practical resources and ensuring that mathematics is embedded across the curriculum so that children see what an important part of the real world it is.

At St Alban’s C of E Academy, children have daily mathematics lessons and all planning is based on the New National Curriculum in Year 1-6 and Early Years Foundation Stage Guidance in Nursery and Reception.  Through our planning, we ensure children are given the opportunities to practise, apply and deepen their skills to enable them to become confident mathematicians.
