PSHE
At St Alban’s C of E Academy our Personal Life Skill Curriculum, in essence PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education ) and RSE (Relationships and Sex Education), enables children to develop a strong sense of themselves and their place in the world around them. Through the delivery of age appropriate learning experiences, we aim to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to face the challenges of life in the 21st century. Personal Life Skills covers a wide range of topics including drug and alcohol education, emotional health and well-being, personal finance, nutrition and physical activity, careers education and RSE (Relationships and Sex Education).
PSHE
Personal Life Skills (PSHE/RSE) plays a vital role in the schools contribution to the five outcomes of Every Child Matters (ECM) and its statutory responsibilities to:

-
Promote the well-being of children and young people
-
Achieve the aims of the whole curriculum
-
Promote community cohesion
-
Provide careers education and RSE

Personal Skills
Personal Life Skills is an opportunity for teachers and classes to develop their relationships through circle time and through honest conversations in an environment where children feel safe and secure. These sessions can be used to address issues that arise in school and in the world news. This is vital to give our children an understanding of the rapidly changing world we live in and to face it with confidence and due consideration.

Each year group took part in a Pupil Voice lesson where they ranked what they thought were the most important topics to learn about as well as talked about all of the key knowledge and skills they have learnt so far.
